Under the influence of Western Disturbance some Higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir have received light to slightly moderate snowfall during last night.

The Higher Reaches of Pir Panjal Range & Greater Himalayan Range recorded a brief spell of snowfall last night. The accumulation of Snowfall was vary from area to area. As per reports the accumulation of snow recorded from 1 inches to 6 inches.

Pir Ki Gali, the mountain pass on Mughal Road, which connects Shopian district with Poonch district recorded 5 inches of snow.

Today Forecast for Jammu & Kashmir.

Today mainly dry and partly cloudy weather expected over many parts of Jammu and Kashmir till afternoon and thereafter light Rain , Snow and Thundershowers expected over some parts of the UT, especially parts of Kupwara, Baramulla, Bandipura, Ganderbal, Budgam, Shopian, Kulgam , Anantnag, Pulwama, Srinagar, Poonch, Rajouri, Doda, Kishtwar , Ramban , Reasi and parts of Udhampur districts .

More over mainly Dry Weather Expected over many parts of Jammu, Kathua , Samba, Udhampur and Reasi districts.

Improvement in weather expected from late afternoon/ evening hours. ( Regards; J&K Weather)
