Jammu and Kashmir is currently under the grip of moderate intensity western disturbance since yesterday.
Under the influence of this system many parts of Jammu and Kashmir receive light to moderate Rain / Hails..
Higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir have received light to slightly moderate snowfall under the influence of this western disturbance.
Snowfall leads to closure of Historical Mughal Road which connects South Kashmir’s Shopian district with Poonch district. Authorities said that the Mughal Road has been closed due to overnight light Snowfall and shooting stones which occurred last night.
Due to the inclement weather Schools in Tulail and Gurez has been kept closed by SDM Gurez as per the reports of news agencies.
Overall Good Precipitation has been reported from various parts of Jammu and Kashmir till now.
Forecast
The system is likely to affect Jammu and Kashmir till tomorrow evening/ late night. More Rain , Snow & hailstorms expected in J&K during the next 24-36 hours.
During the above said period lighting with intensive thunderstorms is also expected over many parts of Jammu and Kashmir. keeping in view you are all requested to stay safe and take precautions and shelters till weather improves.
Improvement in weather is expected from Monday.
