A fresh Western disturbance is currently effecting over parts of Jammu and Kashmir under its influence of this weather system,
Light to moderate intensity rain / snow is expected over plains of Kashmir while light to moderate snowfall is expected over higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir.
Light Snowfall is expected over plains of Kashmir between today late evening/ night 1-4 inches is expected.
Higher reaches of Kashmir may experience moderate snowfall particularly Gulmarg, sonamarg, pahalgam, sinthan top , sadhna pass, peer ki gali and Gurez may see good snow accumulation (6 inches to 1.5ft ).
Light to moderate snowfall is also possible in Ladakh & light rain is expected in plains of Jammu.
Peak intensity from today evening to tomorrow morning thereafter improvement is expected across Jammu and Kashmir.
Improvement in minimum temperatures is expected today and tomorrow.
Dry weather is expected from tomorrow late afternoon to 4 January.
