The cyclonic circulation is over the Southwest Bay of Bengal.
Western disturbance is seen as a trough in middle tropospheric westerlies with its axis at 5.8 km above mean Sea level, north of latitude 28 degrees north and longitude 64 degrees east.
Weather Activity in the last 24 hours:
During the last 24 hours, light to moderate rain occurred over coastal areas of Tamil Nadu and light rain over South Kerala, interior Tamil Nadu, Lakshadweep, and Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Moderate fog occurred in isolated pockets of Punjab, and Bihar.
Weather Activity in the next 24 hours:
During the next 24 hours, light to moderate rain with a few heavy spells may occur over South Tamil Nadu, and Kerala on December 16.
The intensity of rain will increase and many parts of Tamil Nadu, Kerala as well as Lakshadweep may witness light to moderate rain with few heavy spells.
Light rain and snow with one or two moderate spells may occur over Gilgit-Baltistan, Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh on December 16.
Himachal Pradesh may witness snowfall at the upper reaches on December 17.
