Back to Back Western disturbances can bring moderate to heavy rain and snow in Jammu and Kashmir from 27-31st March

Two Western disturbances are expected during last 5 days of march, under its influence rain/thundershowers with Gusty winds, hailstorm and Snowfall is expected in most places in Jammu and Kashmir.

Aadil Maqbool said The Forcast based on and prepared after day- night monitoring of Weather satellites including Weather models like GFS , ECMWF, GEM, ICON, and Local Weather apps etc.

According to Independent weatherman Aadil Maqbool First Western disturbance will enter from 27 March onwards until 28 march night during this phase moderate to heavy rain along with Gusty winds is expected in plains of Jammu and Kashmir while higher reaches of Kashmir and UT Ladakh may receive a spell of moderate Snowfall.

On 29th March mostly dry weather is expected over most places but during late afternoon few places can see brief thundershowers.

Second Western disturbance will enter from 29 March/30 March morning until 31 March evening during this phase Moderate to heavy rain is expected in plains while moderate to heavy snowfall is expected in upper reaches, main intensity can seen on 30 March.

Snow depth in higher reaches during 27th -31 March

2-4 feet expected in extreme higher reaches.1-2 feet snowfall is possible over higher reaches of Kulgam, Shopian, Anantnag, Bandipora, Ganderbal, Baramulla & Kupwara.

1-2 feet expected over upper reaches of Budgam and Ganderbal, Fresh 1 feet snowfall expected over Sonamarg, Gulmarg between 27-31 March.

Overall erratic behaviour of weather is expected from 27 March until 31 March.
