Detailed weather report for Jammu and Kashmir.
9th February : Mainly dry weather is expected.Overcast weather is expected towards the late afternoon/evening over many places.The weather is expected to remain dry everywhere, however there’s a 40-50% chance of snow over Sonamarg, Pahalgam.Whereas , Dry weather is expected in plains, however a short rain shower cannot be ruled out in a few plains (30% chance).45% Chance towards late night/10th’s early morning.

10th February : Mainly dry weather is expected.The system on this day is expected to bring a few spells of Intermittent rain/snow.Plain areas of north Kashmir are expected to witness rain showers initially, if the rains continue, it will convert to snow thereafter.Majority of the precipitation is expected to be rain over the plain areas, direct snowfall cannot be ruled out.

Central Kashmir plains may receive rain showers (50% chance).If the rains continue, it may transform to snow by night-late night (35% chance).South Kashmir plains are likely to witness mainly dry weather, however short rain/snow spells cannot be ruled out.

Snowfall accumulation if the rains do manage to convert to snow :
North Kashmir plains may witness >2-4 inches
Central Kashmir plains may witness >1-3 inches
South Kashmir plains may witness >1-3 inches
Higher reaches (average) : >6-8 inches

Overall, nothing significant Is expected anywhere.Heavy rain/snow showers cannot be ruled out in a few parts.A few parts may witness continuous showers too.

11th February : The peak effect of the system is expected on this day.Plains may witness intermittent-continuous rain/snow showers.(55% chance) The weather is expected to be cloudy/dry for the majority of the time in plains, although periods of rain/snow will continue throughout the day.Higher reaches such as Sonamarg, Gulmarg, Pahalgam, Doodhpathri, etc are expected to receive light to moderate snow with an Accumulation >4-6 inches, slightly higher over Sonamarg (>6-10 inches).The highest impact of this weather system will be on north Kashmir and south Kashmir parts along with central Kashmir.

12th February : Mainly dry weather is expected, rain/snow activities will Continue till the morning or afternoon hours, a major halt is expected during this period over many places.Sunny weather may also occur during this period.However, it may be disrupted by a few more spells of rain/snow which are expected mostly over Pahalgam, Sonamarg,And a few other places (40% chance).Overall improvement in weather conditions are expected over many places by late night.

13-14th February : Dry weather is expected.

Forecast for Jammu : Intermittent light to moderate showers are expected over a few plains.Overall, mainly dry weather is expected.Brief heavy showers cannot be ruled out, the chances of precipitation are higher on 10th and 11th February.Higher reaches may witness short snow showers with no major accumulation.There’s a risk of hailstorm in some parts (25% chance)

Thunderstorms/Lightning/Hail are expected over a few parts of Jammu & Kashmir b/w 9-12th February.Strong gusty winds may also occur during this period.
