Prolonged Heat Wave Likely to end In Jammu and Kashmir, Rain Expected

Southwest Monsoon Showers likely to give some relief from Heat Wave, Good news for J&K residents from weather perspective

From the last few weeks Jammu and Kashmir is under the grip of severe Heat Wave due to the absense of any major Wet Spell. Temperatures across J&K being recorded over normal. Paddy fields become dried as water level reduced due to intensive heat wave. Finally the long wait of people is going to end.

Good spells of Rain expected in Jammu and Kashmir during which light to moderate and somewhat heavy Rain expected in J&K which may give some respite from Heatwave.

As per our analysis from 27-29 July Rain showers of Light intensity expected over scattered places of Jammu and Kashmir while from 29 July to 03 August Light to moderate and Somewhat heavy rain showers expected in J&K. The chances of heavy showers are more in Jammu, Samba, Kathua, Doda and Udhampur districts.

  • Avoid to go near water bodies / Rivers as water level in these may increase due to heavy rain which may leads to flash floods too.
